March 20 - 22, 2009

Take a short walk in the Whites to the famous Zealand Notch cabin, on a shoulder of Mt. Hale just north of Bretton Woods, by the picturesque Zealand Falls, and with views of Cardigan Notch from the porch. Best of all, we are going there on the first day of Spring, with longer sunshine and milder temperatures and still a great showpack for snowshoers and cross country skiers. On Friday we ski or shoeshoe in 6.2 miles to the hut, and have dinner. We all help out with meals and clean up. Saturday either a Valley ski tour or a hike to a nearby summit. Saturday evening features a ten course dinner served by your trip leaders and we suggest you bring your finery for the event. Sunday a short hike to Zeacliff, then ski out to the cars. You will need some winter equipment for this trip and we will send you a list. Your trip leaders are experience winter mountaineers.

This trip is a great experience. There's nothing like being out there in the snow when you've gotten there under your own steam
